
Homer C. La Rue (term through June, 2013),
Columbia. Mr. La Rue is a professor at Howard
University School of Law. He teaches lawyering
skills, civil procedure, professional
responsibility, and dispute resolution. Mr. La
Rue also works actively in dispute resolution,
serving as an arbitrator and mediator in many
proceedings. He has been on the forefront of
clinical education in law schools, serving as
director of clinical education for the District of
Columbia School of Law, and being involved with the
development of a nationally recognized first year
clinical experience at the University of Maryland.
Finally, Mr. La Rue has also developed programs to
assist persons of color in becoming mediators and
arbitrators in labor and non-labor
disputes.
